Site News – Short Stack 01

    Short Stack 01
Ninja Pancake News – The Short Stack 01

We take a lot of pride in what we do here at Ninja Pancake, despite being a smaller website aimed at entertainment in general. Most of us talk of our passions for video games weekly. You listen to these shows pretty often. I could spend my time writing this talking about numbers but I won’t. Mainly it has to do with an agreement Patrick and I have when it comes to maintaining this website. Numbers make things seem like a cheap gimmick and often times I couldn’t agree more. All I will say is people keep visiting the site, showing their affections through mouse base clicked to their favorite shows on the network. Even I get a couple and I’m a total jerk!

It’s been a lot of fun for all of the shows getting your feedback. It might have been through a mail or even a Tweet. Everyone’s been hard at work to keep you entertained and following along. We recently had Bombshell Jackets launch, a podcast dedicated to Tom Clancy’s The Division, which has been very well received. I’m sure Tinkkz and Lady would thank you but if you listen to the show they’re tending to people in Lady’s basement. I’ve been told it’s a second full time job on their parts, which sounds pretty frightening. Tinkkz did have a statement prepared for The Short Stack 01 and I’ll paraphrase it for you. For some reason she sent a PowerPoint Presentation which contained her original message of thanks and it doesn’t translate well into text.

“Hey everyone, it’s Tinkkz. Today I’ve created a PowerPoint presentation showing how happy Lady and myself are with all the feedback you’ve given the show. We’re calling it ‘Thank Yous From The Basement’,”

This is where I got worried a little. I’d like to point out that it wasn’t because of the twelve slides filled with happy face, fingernails getting painted and dancing women emojis. It wasn’t even the ‘Thanks’ on each slide in the presentation which all basically said how great you all are. I was more worried that people actually use PowerPoint still. I was told to relay that they are very grateful to all of you listening. We’re proud of what they’ve been up to. For those of you who listen to Sweet Scoped, think of Bombshell Jackets as the sister show which is just focused solely on The Division. Both shows will continue to be produced in tandem and you have nothing to worry about. If you’ve yet to check out the show it’s right here.

    Happy Holidays From Ninja Pancake

December 23, 2015 by Remy Ransom Leave a Comment

    Happy Holidays

    Happy Holidays!

Normally, I don’t like to toot my own horn. Unless I’m sparrow racing, then I toot it constantly. We’ve come a long way in a couple of months and had to learn how to do a lot of things we normally wouldn’t. In fact, I personally, have learned a ton. So for the impending new year what I’m hoping to do is clean up a couple of things. If you’re an avid fan of the site you’ll notice some little tweaks I like to make here and there. Which is really fantastic as I continue to learn from a different knowledge base, one I’m not entirely used to. I just wanted to take a minute out to thank all of those who joined up with us on this little adventure. We recently finished bringing Mulehorn Gaming into the fold. So it’s just one more thing we’ve added in a long line of additions to the site. There’s a couple of more shows which we’ve been reached out about which aren’t video game related. You’ll be hearing more about these in the next month or so. Much excite. Such listen. Very content. Yay.

What can we actually announce? Well, my partner in podcasting crimes and I decided we’re going back to comedy. While Warlock School was a fun experiment for us, we realized we no longer know anything about current releases. We also realized we’re kind of getting tired of talking about Destiny pretty much exclusively. There’s shows out there that carry a torch better than we do, especially since our torch became an axe. This axe was one that we were grinding constantly. It is pretty funny how we became this critical source of information while others remained overly positive. The trend now is that these shows and even community members that had their own axes to grind about us are now being ridiculously critical. I could cite examples but that would be unprofessional. I’ll just save anything extra for this week’s show. So for us at Warlock School we’ve decided to move on to a new show and concept. If you’re sad, don’t be, it’s going to be just as much fun as some of our earlier shows. We’re going to be recording our last episode and releasing it this week before taking a short break to get the new show together. I think this is for the best as I find I enjoy playing Destiny more than giving an opinion most don’t agree with and I plan on sticking to that.

    More My Morning Coffee

More My Morning CoffeeThrowing This Out There —

Building a show is a difficult thing, ask anyone out there who does it. I would love to lie through my teeth or my type in this case and tell you that I just get in front of a Mic and record flawlessly. Really – I don’t. Making more My Morning Coffee entails a ton of post it notes that become the basis for what I want to talk about and make some sort of bastardized run down for each episode. Some of these episodes are good, some are not. I’ve recorded something close to 55 MMCs and whenever I do another change a sound file gets dropped into a folder titled by episode number; these files are usually tagged with an A, B, C… etc. so I remember how many times I’ve thrown a show out after listening to them before releasing. I have some weird standards.

What Is Going On With MMC?

Well, I sat down earlier in the week and said to myself: “Where am I going?” An answer to that question is hardly ever found in one’s life. I’ve done a lot on the show so far, gone over some of my own more personal memories, some current ones and my struggles trying to quit smoking. This show has become an outlet for me where I get to share outside of my time on Warlock School, giving you something to remember or even a game you may have never heard of to look up and dive into. The Valkyria Chronicles episode I did is still one I get a ton of e-mails regarding, which is pretty cool considering it’s not a very nostalgic game for most. I really just played it because I bought it for cheap on my birthday and never touched it but thanks to Steam Sales and other free games from either Live or PS+ I can expand my repertoire. Who knows – maybe even playing some of these again will help me get back into video games as a whole again.

Right now though, I’m armed with about 16 games I haven’t played and have been thinking about recording some video from these at some point to create more content for Ninja Pancake. I can’t say whether or not these will be MMC’s or if some of these may remain standalone videos of me enjoying games. Maybe a little bit of both. Playing games has been a big part of my life, something I’ve always come to just to get away for awhile and lastly something I enjoy sharing my experiences with. I remain excited, to say the least, that I’m going to expand a little more on what I’m doing because if it wasn’t for the support I’ve gotten for the show I probably would have never dreamed of going as far as I plan to. MMC is a thing, it’s my thing and I really enjoy doing. Feedback has been driving me as well, so I’ll say a thank you for that as well.

Remy Types a Thank You Note —

October 25, 2015 by Remy Ransom 1 Comment

Remy Types a Thank You Note --
As I’m almost certain you’re aware, Sweet Scoped recently did a charity stream for Down Syndrome Awareness, which as of my last message from Tinkkz, raised $1,200.00 which benefited The Special Olympics. As someone who does a lot of write ups for this site, I wanted to thank them for their hard work and general drive to do this sort of thing. It was the most fun I’ve watched in a long time on Twitch and if you listened to the last episode of Warlock School – I apparently love to watch people play. We often times joke on School that Destiny wouldn’t survive without its community members that are so passionate over the game. Personally, my belief is that this community wouldn’t survive without people like the girls of Sweet Scoped.

While I tend to play a jackass most days, this is one of those things that stops me dead in my tracks and helps how I rethink my own current philosophies of what communities actually are. Are they really as toxic as I think they are most days? I guess not. The more incredible fact of all this is it isn’t even the first stream they’ve helped out with and I’m pretty certain it won’t be their last. For all of us who got to enjoy your time spent together with your guests streaming the game, I just wanted to say ‘Thank You’ for what you did. I had a lot of fun watching, chatting and hearing how excited you all were over every donation, even that of my own. They put a lot of work into this and it was pretty neat to see the end results of their efforts.

If you want to thank them yourself go follow Sweet Scoped on Twitter @SweetScoped. If you have a little more than a character limit would allow one to say, I’m sure they’d love to read your mails, which you can send over to sweetscoped@ninjapancake.com. Individually on Twitter you can find Tinkkz, Kat, JoJo and Lady and say ‘Hello,”. As always, you can find their shows on the site by clicking on the menu or right here.

That’s enough of me being human for one day – Catch ya later.
