What are we doing when we do an episode of Geekologist Radio, and what it’s really about. The simple answer is: We are discussing the things in modern geek culture that are important to us. As purveyors of many different forms of entertainment, we hope our opinions and reviews give our listeners the insight they need to pick their next movie or TV show to watch or game to play. We have a few different segments that involve topics for just about any geek in each episode, and we hope you’ll enjoy our journey exploring the new media we find. So get ready to jump In Our Queue as we explore what we’ve been watching, Game On with us as we play and discuss popular video games, and get your tickets ready to board The Hype Train where we discuss future releases in TV, Movies, & Video Games!
Your Panel of Geeks this week looks at the last year of their time spent watching screens. All the media you could handle in a single episode, except for the episode they’re doing about Video Games. That one will be out a little later. They list down each of our Top 10, going from 10 to 1. (We did lose Silver’s audio at the start of our Movie lists, but we got her back by our #3 picks. There is a stinger before we go into movies explaining what happened). Also the crew dives into Hyping up what they’re looking forward into the new year.
We’re back into the Spoilercast business this week and what a business it is. Some of your favorites and an addition make up your Panel of Geeks this episode. The business brings us to Star Wars: The Last Jedi. We take you scene by scene and Character by Character through the film. We discuss things you might have missed as well as things you might have “thought” you saw. Through it all we give our thoughts as well as big picture opinions. Enjoy, and if you don’t like spoilers this is your final warning. Special thanks to BIGD112358 for joining for this cast. May the Force be with You.
We have a little something different this week for you. You know how unboxing videos are a pretty big deal on YouTube? Yeah, us too. We’re not doing that. We are doing a review on a product though but way less aggressively than one Billy Mays would (or Tony Robbins, even). This week we’re taking a deep dive into Evil Controllers, which is just a name, they’re not Decepticons waiting to chop your hands off when you go to hold the product.
This episode has Silver, Nick and Damian not only looking at the product but getting really hands on to let you know their thoughts. Evil Controllers also goes out of their ways to create a meticulously crafted device for people who are disabled as well. It doesn’t matter the disability as there is a controller that is made to assist in a no gamer left behind sort of attitude. If you’ve never heard of them before, they recently won an award at E3 for their newest model The Shift. It’s meant for all of you hardcore gamers in the world who want to destroy their competitions by any means possible. Silver actually got to take a tour of the their factory recently and gives her accounts of how this small team is just trying to bring gamers across the world together.
