What exactly is The Fluxcast? The Fluxcast might be about video games why not, right? Isn’t every podcast about video games nowadays? It’s a major form of media and a viable example of how we all enjoy wasting our free time. In fact the hosts of this show consume media in the same way you probably do and love to discuss it for your amusement. So does that mean this show is about everything and anything? You could assume as much but we like to think of it as friends across both sides of the pond just chatting. With the occasional euphemism misunderstood by one another due to geographic locations it makes for a fun time. We do love a good e-mail when they’re sent to firstname.lastname@example.org though. Feel free to write in!
Long live and prosper! Wait no that’s not right. May the force be with you everyone. In case the title has not given it away, this week James and Paul are discussing all things Star Motherfreaking Wars and all things revealed at Star Wars Celebration. It is a bumper breakdown episode with the trailers for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Star Wars: The Last Jedi being broken down parsec by parsec. Not only that but the duo speculate on what the purpose of Samuel L. Jackson’s video message was how Mace Why-Choose-Pink-du could make a return. If Star Wars is not your cup of tea, then the pair also cover some other film news and check back in with the Toronto Wolfpack.
James and Paul are back and are being as diverse as ever! Also: Episode titles are hard! Did you know that the leading team in League One of the Kingston Press Rugby Leagues, does not come from the United Kingdom? If you did know that, bravo but do you also know what the average salary of a tree surgery is in both England and Canada? The duo are willing to bet you did not know. However it is not all rugby and tree surgery, James and Paul also give their one hundred professional breakdown and speculation of Destiny 2. It had a trailer, isn’t that exciting?!
This title should clearly explain it all, if it doesn’t we can probably fill you in. One of our Network Overlords, Tinkkz, is dating the other Network Overlord, Remy. Therefor: Her-Rem-Bae. It’s a joke Tinkkz coined on Twitter one but enough backstory! Here’s James and Paul talking to Remy about a myriad of things that we’re not quite sure was cleared by him! Enjoy!
Aren’t puns great? This episode James and Paul put on their game critic hats and try and review the latest game they have both purchased Forza Horizon 3. Spoiler alert, it’s very pretty. We also learn that we do not have a one track brain this episode and end up getting a little distracted.
Unfortunately, we are not live from the red carpet at the 89th Academy Awards, speaking to the actors and actresses that have been nominated to win one of these prestigious awards as we have not yet hit the big time. This week we try and present an in depth category by category breakdown of the upcoming Oscars, but very quickly realize that we did not watch nearly enough films this year so some categories get the short end of the stick.
Prepare for the most muted birthday celebrations you have ever heard! James, Paul and Thomas are all back together to celebrate turning the grand old age of one. In traditional FluxCast style the birthday celebrations last for all of about a minute before it is brushed under the rug for slightly more macabre topics. Macabre in this episode means death and more specifically Thomas’ death and even more specifically how if you can come up with a creative enough method of murder for Thomas then no charges will get pressed against you. It’s not all doom and gloom though, that would just make for a terrible birthday!
Ladies and gentlemen, boy and girls. You are all cordially invited to the Second Annual Fluxies. This exclusive event is equivalent to the Oscars and movies, the Tonys and theatre or the AMAs and music. Actually in all honestly this event is probably better suited being compared to the Razzies. But we digress, this episode is our homage to 2016 where we will be handing out awards to what we consider the best video games, films and television series of the year. So sit back, relax and prepare to enjoy the Second Annual Fluxies.
