What exactly is The Fluxcast? The Fluxcast might be about video games why not, right? Isn’t every podcast about video games nowadays? It’s a major form of media and a viable example of how we all enjoy wasting our free time. In fact the hosts of this show consume media in the same way you probably do and love to discuss it for your amusement. So does that mean this show is about everything and anything? You could assume as much but we like to think of it as friends across both sides of the pond just chatting. With the occasional euphemism misunderstood by one another due to geographic locations it makes for a fun time. We do love a good e-mail when they’re sent to email@example.com though. Feel free to write in!
So If Warden, Blizzard’s Anti-Cheating AI, gets purchased by Google and decides that all humans are evil and creates a Post-Apocalyptic wasteland what is the most suitable weapon? Crossbow or a rifle? But before we get into that the Cast has Fluctuated once again. That’s right we have reached that stage everybody! But in all honesty your hosts have changed for this episode. Well apart from Paul, for better or for worse, he will always be here. Who has replaced James you ask? Daricus, aka Papa D, DareBear, Blue and many more names which are all revealed in this episode. It’s not all names and crossbows though, an old FluxCast classic also returns. How differently can two people say one word? For this week we have the title of a popular Blizzard game! Whilst bringing back an old FluxCast classic, we also start a new segment. Guess that game? In this fantastic piece Daricus gives a very vague hint about a game and then leaves it up to Paul to try and decipher what he means! Sound confusing? At least you didn’t have to take part! See you all next week, different words, same arguments!
Public Safety Announcement: The Dynamic Duo are back once again and due to some sort of International trickery we have managed to see Ratchet & Clank already! So if you do not want to have that ruined for you or another film, we want to say it is called something like Sergeant Australia: Polite Battle, then don’t listen to the back part of this episode. Spoilers Redux! The back part of the episode you say? Does this mean there is still some non-spoiler filled content that we can listen to? Well yes there is! We are going to let you in on a little secret this episode, we do vocal warmups, it helps to get us loose and once you have listened to this episode you will have the tricks of the trade to get yourself loose also. However while we may be vocally loose this episode Paul is definitely not mentally sharp. How we let him host this show we are not at all sure. We may do something this about next week, we may not that is a cliffhanger and a reason to see you all next week. Different group of people, same channel!
Seriously. Britain. Did you know that we are fifty percent British? If not then you are in for a treat. Lothric, New York City and Boston may have consumed most of the group/gaming world at large but James and Paul are still here this week to give you an insight in to Britain. The Queen? Check. Mary Berry? Check. Cockney London? Check. All we need to complete this episode? A good old British cuppa’. Not a fan of Britain? How about getting famous? Wait did we say famous? Now we have your attention! This week James is on hand to give a quick rundown about what he would/will do when he makes it. Long and short, being unnecessarily particular about which premieres and mixers he would attend. Speaking of films the Dynamic Duo do an in-depth breakdown of all of the recent trailers, we would say it rivals Empire magazine for analysis. However it is not all good news in this episode the Half Life 3 enigma gets cracked but it is not good news, please don’t hate us though we are just the messengers. One last little thing, we promise Paul is not as bad a boyfriend as this episode makes it out. See you all next week, different video game cities, same channel.
Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to who…? Wait what’s that? A dramatic pause and now you are hooked and you need to know whose birthday it is, how old they are and what are their plans? Well we implore you to press play and find out the answer to this and a whole host of other questions ranging from what a Carbuncle is? Can we buy a Carbuncle? Do we know anybody who is good enough to make a Carbuncle? We shall elaborate, Final Fantasy XV was announced this week leading to much fanfare within both the gaming and our little community. Not only that but the developers were also kind enough to release a demo for all to play. It’s a good time all around this week. Unless, like Paul, you are looking to fly to Ohio from London on a Sunday evening. That is unfortunately quite the struggle. See you all next week, different age and time, same channel.
Pigs have flown. Blue moons are in the sky. Guess who’s back?! Max Anderson is back on the podcast everybody. The bi-monthly Buck-tacular is here for your enjoyment. So sit down and brace yourself everybody to have the important questions finally answered. Such as does Buck have a girlfriend? What has Buck been doing? How is Buck? If that doesn’t take your fancy though we can confirm there is at least five minutes of non-Max based conversation. By that we mean you get to hear about Jordan’s Starbucks Break! Sorry meant to say Spring Break there! If you really don’t want to hear about people’s lives though then we have something else for you as well. The most in-depth breakdown of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice this side of Gotham City! Honestly after listening to this you won’t even have to watch the film! Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing… See you all next week, actually can say bat this time time, same bat channel!
Life, the first frontier, these are the musings of three random people. Our mission? Well actually we don’t know, but if you have an idea please do let us know! We’re a terrific trio on this show this episode! This week a tiny little game called the Division came out, if you have heard on it then give yourself a pat on the back. A new game does mean opinions and reviews ahoy, so brace yourself. Before that though we try to go into some of the games that we could play forever and not be bored, but unfortunately Paul is here stopping any and all intellectual debate to “drive the show forward”. Speaking of intellectual Thomas and Daricus are both on Spring Break this week, which to normal people would mean killing brain cells with copious amount of alcohol on some sunny beach somewhere. To Thomas and Daricus? For one it means thanking his brother for a free copy of that small little game we mentioned earlier, for the other writing a list. Who is who? Well for that and the mystery of what is on that list you will just have to have a listen won’t you! See you all next week, different holiday, same channel!
Life is just.. Strange. On this week’s episode of The Fluxcast we make fun of a tender moment between two characters that Paul enjoyed. By enjoyed we mean squealed like a little girl which luckily you guys get to hear! He will be mercilessly teased for this though. Our normal foursome isn’t your usual one this week as Jordan subs in for the delightful and always positive, Thomas. This week we thought it’s time for a little change so we’re trying, emphasis on trying, to hit multiple media topics and stick to them. Actual progress is actual. We’re going from TV Shows to general news to an awful lot of music with more media and more. It’s almost as diversified as us. Never fear the regular is still here though and by that we mean video games. A new Pokemon was announced and that ends up making us all just a little nostalgic and we take a little time going over our memories with some of the previous offerings. On a related note: If you need a pillow then you can now purchase a giant Snorelax one but we would recommend being quick that pillow signals the end is nigh. Speaking of ends, it is just us or does it feel like Nintendo has kind of dropped the ball since the 90’s heyday? Anyway see you all next week, different Charmander-time, same channel.
