Building a show is a difficult thing, ask anyone out there who does it. I would love to lie through my teeth or my type in this case and tell you that I just get in front of a Mic and record flawlessly. Really – I don’t. Making more My Morning Coffee entails a ton of post it notes that become the basis for what I want to talk about and make some sort of bastardized run down for each episode. Some of these episodes are good, some are not. I’ve recorded something close to 55 MMCs and whenever I do another change a sound file gets dropped into a folder titled by episode number; these files are usually tagged with an A, B, C… etc. so I remember how many times I’ve thrown a show out after listening to them before releasing. I have some weird standards.
What Is Going On With MMC?
Well, I sat down earlier in the week and said to myself: “Where am I going?” An answer to that question is hardly ever found in one’s life. I’ve done a lot on the show so far, gone over some of my own more personal memories, some current ones and my struggles trying to quit smoking. This show has become an outlet for me where I get to share outside of my time on Warlock School, giving you something to remember or even a game you may have never heard of to look up and dive into. The Valkyria Chronicles episode I did is still one I get a ton of e-mails regarding, which is pretty cool considering it’s not a very nostalgic game for most. I really just played it because I bought it for cheap on my birthday and never touched it but thanks to Steam Sales and other free games from either Live or PS+ I can expand my repertoire. Who knows – maybe even playing some of these again will help me get back into video games as a whole again.
Right now though, I’m armed with about 16 games I haven’t played and have been thinking about recording some video from these at some point to create more content for Ninja Pancake. I can’t say whether or not these will be MMC’s or if some of these may remain standalone videos of me enjoying games. Maybe a little bit of both. Playing games has been a big part of my life, something I’ve always come to just to get away for awhile and lastly something I enjoy sharing my experiences with. I remain excited, to say the least, that I’m going to expand a little more on what I’m doing because if it wasn’t for the support I’ve gotten for the show I probably would have never dreamed of going as far as I plan to. MMC is a thing, it’s my thing and I really enjoy doing. Feedback has been driving me as well, so I’ll say a thank you for that as well.
You’ll also notice my demeanor is changing in later episodes where I almost seem to be happier. It’s not really that, it’s more I’m learning to deal with my stress better. We all get stressed – This is how I deal with mine. I work through it which is a little fun fact for those of you reading along right now. Life can come at me all it wants but I will continue to do things to keep myself busy. You should as well.
What’s The Line Up So Far?
I’m glad you’re wondering that because I was too … I’m kidding. Here’s some rough outlines of what may be to come very soon:
Monday, November 2nd – Jeremy Talks a Bit
Where I’ve been what’s going on and everything in between. I plan on sprinkling some Destiny in here and there of what I’ve played of it that hasn’t been mentioned on Warlock School.
Wednesday, November 5th – Jeremy Gets Caught Up
I have about thirty E-Mails I need to get to. I plan on doing it then, rain or shine. I’m also going to be doing a bit about the Mario Party Debacle of ’00. There’s a story here that I think you’ll enjoy.
Friday, November 7th – Tentatively is Jeremy is a Monster Hunter
I finally got around to starting Monster Hunter 4 which I’ve always wanted to play and had some free time. If I don’t feel I’ve become well versed enough with this game my backup plan is talking about my son using his screen time to watch YouTubers play games. This is a phenomena that has always completely and totally fascinated me. This episode has a working title of Dad and Lad Time but I have a backup plan for that as well. Surprise, surprise.
The next week I’ll be back to Tuesdays/Thursdays starting my rotation schedule back up in full-ish force. Anyway, catch you later and thanks for the support.
